Além dos problemas individuais, nós imigrantes brasileiros lidamos no dia a dia com a divisão entre duas culturas, às vezes com mais energia e entusiasmo, às vezes com desafios e obstáculos.
Estas são algumas das questões comumente trazidas para a terapia: problemas de relacionamento, ansiedade e/ou ataques de pânico, sintomas físicos sem explicação médica, depressão, luto, mudança de carreira, violência doméstica, doença de longa duração, divórcio, busca de auto-realização, crise de sentido de vida, questões da parentalidade.

I have always kept great interest and respect for people's histories of endurance, love, hope and transformation.
My post-graduate trainings include sleep disorders, addiction, infertility concerns, pain, psychosomatic complaints, dreams and Jungian psychology.

In addition, I am fully trained in EMDR and Calatonia®, techniques that promote a balance of mind, emotions and body. I teach Calatonia® and Subtle Touch™ internationally and present on topics such as Sleep, Dreams, and Stress.

I received my first academic qualification in clinical psychology, as well as post-graduate training in psychosomatics in Brazil, where I worked for nine years in private practice. Having moved to the US in the early 90’s, I became a mental health counselor, licensed in the State of Florida. I worked both privately and in non-profit sectors for over ten years. From 2007 to 2014, I lived in the UK and worked in private practice and the National Health System, as a Chartered Counselling (UK spelling!) Psychologist, member of the British Psychological Society.

Having worked in three very distinct cultures I gained a deeper appreciation of the richness of diversity and cultural roots.
